Karla Walter completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics at Florida Atlantic University graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2006. As a non-traditional aged student, she pursued her college career at the age of 46. Walter currently serves as the Art Gallery Specialist for Palm Beach State College in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. When she’s not curating exhibitions, she’s in her studio creating sculptures. Her current body of work consists of ceramic and bronze crows. She feels these birds are messengers and are symbolic of change. Having numerous personal encounters, her work explores the similarities between the social interactions among crows and that of humans. Walter has exhibited her work at numerous venues including Art Palm Beach, Whitespace Gallery, JF Gallery, DRT Modern Gallery, Armand Bolling Gallery, and Gallery Biba.
