A self taught artist, Magnus Sebastian’s childhood tended toward artistic pursuits. He was fascinated with history and classical art often drawing intricate copies of da Vinci’s work, writing sonnets, pouring over books of antique arms and armor, or dreaming of castles and cathedrals. He stored the images of his youth deep within his psyche, as if saving them for a rainy day. Many years later, he now uses those past experiences to inspire his creations. A fusion of human and machine, classical and industrial, Sebastian’s sculptures rebel against what we consider reality. His work has been exhibited in Spectrum Miami, the Cornell Museum of Art in Delray Beach, FL as well as numerous galleries in Florida.
